Today, South Korea is famous for its advanced technology and prosperity. However, South Korea went through various events to become the country it is today. In the past 160 years, South Korea went through international pressure, loss of national identity, and domestic revolutions. From extreme poverty to democratization, South Korea was overlooked by many countries and did not get the recognition it deserves. However, rapid economic growth and modernization grabbed the world’s attention. South Korea proved itself to be an anvil state in East Asia.
